- On Palm Sunday we all get palm branches in the wood and take them to mass. The priest blesses them and we take them home and put a piece in every room in the house. The men wear a piece in the bands of their hats. If a thunderstorm breaks over the house we burn a bit of the blessed palm and then all in the house are safe from harm.
On St. Patrick's Day we wear the Shamrock and harps and crosses.
On May Eve we put a branch of the May Tree over the door.
On Xmas Eve we put holly and laurel on our windows. We take them all down again after Little Xmas Day. It is unlucky to keep them any longer.- Collector
