    he will burn all the hair off the cow's udder with the candle. Sprinkling the holy water is to protect the cow from all harm during the year. In some stables there is a horse shoe over the door to bring luck to the horse. When you are calling the hens you will say tuck tuck. For the ducks you will say feed feed and for the turkeys say biad biad.
    The cows are in during the winter and they get hay, turnips, or mangolds mixed with meal or crushed oats. They are left out in grass about the 1st of May and the they are left out till about the middle of November. Before the cows are put in the the stable is whitewashed and the floors are brushed.
