    On the following morning he gave him a small "soaker" which he took with him. He set out to work to drain the pump which was being fed from the sea by an underground channel. He pumped and pumped until the water rose several feet. It entered the giant's house and flooded his rooms. It rose so high that the giant became afraid and ordered him to cease work telling him at the same time that he had won his daughter and would inherit the castle and lands after his death. Tom married the giant's daughter and the two lived happily together for many years.
