- [?]Tigte na sean aimsireLong ago the houses in this parish were entirely different to the houses now. In every place the horse the hens and the pigs used be inside in the dwelling house and in some houses the cows and the donkey used to be inside. In nearly every house there used be no room but a Kitchen and the bed used be near the fire and the pigs used be under it. There used be no chimneys but holes in the roofs and there used be a gallon without a bottom up on the top of the hole in order to draw up the smoke. There used be one small window in the houses with a timber shutter in it and there used be small low narrow doors in them. The houses were built of mud and sops of hay mixed with it to stick it together. They used be thatched with rushes(continues on next page)
