   Daniel Moriarty and another man named Hayes. were brought up for it and Nora Fitsmaurice swore false on them They were then condemned to death by hanging

   When they were in their condemned cells a priest came to hear their confessions and when he was gone a pigoen came and rested on the window of the cell. Hayes remembered then that he had stolen a pigeon and he sent again for the priest

   The police were then in guard by Nora Fitsmaurice and she got married to one of them No one were friends with either Nora Fitsmaurice or the police man then

   The police man was a very clever man. The time of the plan of campaign the bailiffs were to come unexpected to the place and to carry away all the cattle

   The police man heard this and the following morning he put on his pants and went around to the neighbours. He told them that the bailiffs were coming to gather up their cattle and drive them to safety They did so they stored away the cattle to a place called Muice na [Uáite?] near Lixnaw and ever since they were friends with him

   Some years later the man who shot Fitsmaurice made a death bed confession
