- Sir Robert Gore was the landlord of Lisadell and up to Drumcliffe.
He did not treat his people well. The rent was very heavy and if they were not able to pay it he would turn them out. If they were not able to pay at a certain time he would only give them one week.
In a place called the Seven Cartrons he forced the people to go to America. The Cartrons was rich land and he wished to get it. The Gore family has it yet.
The ship left Sligo Point but instead of going to America he went to Rockly shore which is full of sandbanks. He hit one of them and was wrecked. Captain Dowdel the Captain of the ship was the first to leave. All the people were drowned.
