- Bonfire Night
On the 23rd. June every year we have a big bon-fire at the Cross Roads at Dunally Bridge. On that evening the young boys and girls gather logs of wood and pile them up high and set fire to them. They keep them burning all night, and if there are any live embers on the next night they kindle them up and have another smaller fire.
Young and old gather at the bonfire that night and while the young people are dancing the older ones sit round and tell stories. The boys bring a melodeon or a mouth organ(continues on next page)- Collector
