- Long ago there used to be a lot of of faction fights and cattles in a place called Tubberscanavan. These fights used to take place every day that there would be a fair held. Sometimes terrible fights used to take place and at one fair there were two men killed. One of these men was buried in a graveyard down at Mr Middleton's Mills. This is what is written on his tombstone.
Here lies the body of William Wix,
Who died int he year of Sixty-six
By the bludgeon's blow he was laid low
At the fair of Tubberscanavan.
At one fair a great fight took place between Ballygawley and Tubberscanavan and the Ballygawley men had their sticks painted green and white and led on the ends of them. These men used(continues on next page)- Collector
