The twelfth night is kept in honour of the twelve apostles. On that night twelve rush candles are lighted in every house. The candles are placed on a chair and the rosary is recited round the chair.
Everybody in the house owns one of the candles and it is that the person who owns the first candle that burns out will be the first to die.
On St. Martins night there is fowl killed in every house in honour of St. Martin.
The bonfire night falls on the 23rd June. On that night a big fire is lighted in every district in honour of St. John.
