- Once upon a time there lived in a little hut in Toomour, Keash, two people called Biddy and Jack. They were very poor and had no means of living. They had no money to pay rent or rates, and Jack said he would thresh a stack of oats and sell it. One day while Biddy was looking at the oats she let a pin fall into it. Out she went and let every grain of the oats go with the wind, looking for the pin. When Jack knew it he was very much annoyed and he said they had nothing now but the one cow and he would kill her. When he had killed her he said they would have enough meat for every head of cabbage(continues on next page)
