Long ago before the creameries were established the people had to churn before the Sun would rise. The butter was put into ferkins and it was sold every three months at the market. - Churning is the process of turning milk into butter. The milk is allowed to stand for some time in shallow pans and then the cream is churned.
We have a churn at home which is fixed on a stand. There are four wheels attached to the stand which allow the churn to revolve. It is worked by a handle screwed(continues on next page)- Collector
