- The churn which we have at home is made of cedar wood. It contains when full about five gallons of cream. There is a handle at the side which when twisted turns the dash.When the milk is brought in from the byre it is taken to a dairy to be strained into fresh milk pans. After a short time the cream which comes to the top is skimmed and collected for the churn. The milk that is(continues on next page)
