Ballymote - There is a hill just beside the school and is far famed in connection with Fianna Eireann. It is said that the Fianna, who were fond of hurling and lived by the chase from Beltaine to Samhain during times of peace, once hunted in Keash hill.At one of the caves there were three witches spinning yarns of thread like a spider's web. Whoever touched the thread fell under a spell.Finn and Oisin followed a badger into the cave and were entrapped in the magical device. Other Fianna followed them and they also fell under the spell.Goll MacMorna chanced to be on the other side of the hill and hearing the dogs barking went in haste to the place.
