    "straw boys" or "whalpers" attend, They
    wear a sheaf of straw on their heads
    and two sheaves of straw on their shoulders
    held fast by a strip of straw tied at the
    waist. They send in a note demanding
    money or drink. If they do not get their
    demands they cause trouble, but if they do
    the march into the house and dance with
    the bride and brides-maids and go away
    peacefully.
