    removed to Ballahantourigh. A second teacher came there then by the name of James Lyons from Middleton in Co Cork. He spent three years there. He used to lodge with the scholars in turns.
    There were no blackboards in those days. They used to write with slates and pencils
    The teachers were payed occording to the classes about 1s or 1s6d for each pupil. There was no Irish taught in those schools
