- Many years ago there was a graveyard in this townland. Monuments were erected over certaiin people. At that time there lived a man named "Kuisnin", he was an important man there, as he owned a large plot of land in that area. He died and was buried in the family burrying-ground, and since that time it was called Kilcusnan it is often pronounced "Cill cois na h-Abann" or the church near the river, there is also a river on the other side of the field. There were also Kings buried there, but it is believed that last person buried there was a child.
