- (continued from previous page)morning when the man went out the donkey was dead.
- There was once a man living in Aunaskirtane called Jadie Hickey. He had help drawing limestone. One man that he had was Con Hickey of Cahirbernagh. When they came home with the limestone he stayed in Jadie Hickey's house until about eleven o'clock in the night. Jadie Hickey and a neighbour of his went to convey him home. After passing Aunaskirtane river the horse stopped. The three men came out of the car. They tried to put the horse going. When the horse started he was in his best trying to pull the car. About a mile from Con Hickey's house they met a hound on the road. Con Hickey said that he was his own hound. He called the hound and as he did they heard all the tearing behind the car. Then the hound disappeared. The three men had enough to do to hold the horse. As they went on further they saw four men taking a coffin on their shoulders around a big stone that is inside the fence. The two men went to the house with Con Hickey and they stayed there until morning.
