    The golden rays threw here and there her head of gold away
    Her ruby lips did far eclipse yon sun that bakes the Lee

    Her modest cloak sent every stroke right through me like an axe
    And oh I felt my bosom melt with love away like wax
    In Erin's tounge her accents sung those words she spoke to me
    And caused me fall in loves deep thrall with the Vourneen Geal Mo Croidhe
