    potatoes for breakfast and then boil them before going to school. For dinner at night fall they used potatoes and skim milk again They had a bit of port or beef at stated times such as Christmas or Easter. Later it was used once a month and then once or twice a week with some vegetables such as cabbage or turnips.
    The table used to be taken out from the wall and placed in the centre of the floor during meal time and replaced by the wall afterwards.
    Oatenmeal bread and indian meal bread were very much used. The oatenmeal
