- An Bulláinín BánOnce upon a time there lived a rich gentleman He had only one son and his wife died. He got married again and the second wife became jealous of the boy and she wanted to starve him. When he was but four years she made him mind the cows. He had only one friend in the world a Buláinín Bán. One day he was minding the cows and he got very hungry. The buláinín came over to him and told him to get up on his back. The little boy did so.
The buláinín told him to put his hand into the bull's left ear and that he would get a cloth there and to spread it on the ground and to ask for food. The little boy did so. He asked for food and every kind of food he wanted appeared on the cloth. He used do this every day. The little boy got very fat and the step mother did not know where he was getting the food. She sent out the servant girl to watch him. The girl told her all that happened. Then the step mother pretended to be sick and very bad. All the doctors failed to cure her.
