    She asked the woman why she put the poison in the drink. The woman begged for mercy and St. Brigid said she would forgive her if she would tell her why she wanted to poisin her. "I wanted that expensive cross that you are wearing" said the woman. From that time out Brigid never wore any expensive crosses."
    I often made St. Brigid's crosses and brought them to school with me as a gift to the master.
