Michael Ryan is a great thatcher. When he is thatching he strips off some of the thatch. - About seventeen years ago there was brick making in Attanagh. The drew the clay from Finweir in Buckets. The made bricks and pots. Bill Haligan worked in it. The made houses out of the bricks. There are alot of houses in Leix made of brick. They put a name of the bricks Durrow Metalic, because Attanagh was in the parish of Durrow at that time. The got. They got clay and lime and water and the mixed them they then let it harden in brick bowls.
