    the meaning of that writing is "Maolgram the son of Fecmen." A professor visited it last Summer and said it was most popular place in the province of Munster which "bealoideas" would be gathered from.
    When St. Patrick came to Ireland and when he was teaching Christianity it was then the shape of a cross was printed at the foot of the hill. Some years ago the same stone was carried to Dublin for examination. After about twelve months the stone had to be replaced again because the animals of the place were dying.
