    king of the birds. There are many stories told about this. Here is one I heard sometime ago.
    One time the birds decided to have a king, and they called a meeting to appoint one. They could not come to any agreement at the meeting and they brought the matter before Colm Cille who was a lover of birds. Colm Cille told the birds that the one that could fly the highest should be king. The birds started off and flew for a long time. Some of them began to drop behind. Unknown to anyone the wren had hidden under the eagle's wing. At last all the birds dropped behind. "I shall be King" said the eagle. Then the
