  2. One night as there was a man coming along the Dublin road after selling a load of turf. His name was William Roach. A big cat jumped up into the dray and had great work with the man. The cat stayed with the man for a mile and when leaving he said "My good man when you go home tell Ann (?) Morgan Rattler is dead". The man was in terrible fear until he got home and when he was getting a cup of tea he started to tell his wife Mrs. Margaret Roach what happened.
    His own cat jumped up and said "Oh Lord why didn't you tell me when you came in. "Ill be bate for my poor husband's funeral now With that she made a spring out
