- Once upon a time there was a very old sow who was very fond of doing destruction.
One day this old sow went to the Rower village and ate a bag of meal. Soon the Police came to put the old beast in the pound. The man who owned the sow hid behind the wall. When the Police had the sow just in the pound the man behind the wall struck her on the nose with a stone.
Then the sow burst through the police and they saw her no more. - One night two men were going home drunk from the Rower village. One man was Jack Walsh, the postman, and the other was Jack Archer. Jack Walsh had a loaf under his arm. It was a fine night and the moon was up. "Tis up" said Jack Walsh. "What's up" said his companion. "Tis up"(continues on next page)
