A dance is generally held at the Brides house also. - Below Mr Meagars cottage in Newton there are two gates situated at each side of the road.
This part of the road is vey unlucky. Every night at twelve o clock a woman with a shawl is seen walking through these gates. A man named Madigan got killed there while driving in his car. One night two men were passing these two gates. One of them saw a coffin laid down at the gate, and he asked the other man did he see the coffin. The other man could not see it at all.
