- How Baunlusk got its name.
It is believed that about the year 1100 there lived in Kells a tribe name Tobins. They had to fight a battle for independence against another tribe. They had to fight the battle to Baunlusk and won their independence. Every household brought every thing into the big field and burned them. That is how Baunlusk got its name from the ashes of the burning and the lusk of the battle.- Collector
