There is a district called Ballyredden about a quarter of a mile from Bennettsbridge school and through this district runs an old narrow road.
It leads to Gouran on one side and to Danesfort on the other side. It is said that it was a part of one of the four great roads that emanated from Tara.
It may be a great road then but it looks very insignificant now-a-days.
Canon Drennan P.P. & Father Hunt P.P. told me that there is a reference to this road in Dr Carrigan's History of the Diocese of Ossory.
