(continued from previous page)the Cooper. They were round churns made of wood. The dash was made of wood also with a round head on it. The women used to churn.
When the women would be churning and if a stranger came in he would be expected to take a hand at it or else he would take the butter. On a May morning the women would go to the well and skim the top of it to get the butter and they would be saying, "all for me all for me."
