- There are fairy forts in the district of Lisduff. There is one in Lisduff and two in Urard the next townsland to us they are all in view of each other. They are all circular in shape. There is a fence of trees around them. There is a gap as entrance to them.
There are stories told about these forts. If anyone cut down a bush one of the farm animals would die and that night a light would be seen in the exact spot where the bush was cut. The fairies are supposed to have built them long ago and they do not like any human beings to come near or interfere with them.
These forts are called Raths, the land near those forts is not ploughed the people are afraid to interfere with the fairies.- Informant
