    on transfer to Rockcurry, the women for the most part gave up spinning and I doubt if there is even one at the moment who uses a spinning-wheel though several are to be found in the district.
    Had Fr. Eardley remained to encourage the cottage industry by word and example there is no doubt but the industry would spread in the parish and according to Fr. Eardly - on a moderate estimate about £2,000 a year would saved in the parish.
