- The following are a list of home made toys.
The cradle bird
The cradle bird is made of rods and cord and is a very good trap for birds.
The snare
The snare is made from copper wire and is set in the bog for catching hares.
The dart board
The dart board is made of timber and wire with numbers on it, there are two lines of wire on the outside and you cannot start a game without putting an arrow into these lines.
The bird cage
The bird cage is made of wire mostly so that the bird will have plenty fresh air.
The top
The top is made out of the handle of a spade or a spool with a nail on the top for a spike. There are little cuts it it so that when the cand [?] is being put on it will not slip til it is thrown out on the floor to spin.
The water gun
The water gun is made from a branch of an elder tree. It is first pealed and then the soft stuff in the middle is scraped out and a bit of a rod with a piece of cloth on the end put in its place,(continues on next page)- Collector
