    Christmas day
    On Christmas day there is a great feast celebrated in honour of the birth of our Lord, and everyone has a goose or some other kind of fowl for dinner.
    New Year's day
    On New Year's day the people of the village go round from one house to another and say a happy new year and I hope we'll be all alive this time next year.
    St. Stephen's day
    On St. Stephen's day the boys dress up with false faces and go about the villages singing and getting money, their usual song is, "A penny or twopence to bury the wren, up with the kettle and down with the pan, a penny or twopence to bury the wren."
    St. Bridget's day
    On St. Bridget's day the people make crosses out of rushes and wear them in honour of St. Bridget.
    Good Friday
    On Good Friday it is not right to drive a nail, or a woman to brush her hair till after three o'clock.
    St. Patrick's day
    On St. Patrick's day it is an old custom to wear Shamrock and a
