- Reary is a townland situated in the parishes of Clonaslee and Rosenallis. It is divided up into three parts,Reary More,Reary Valley, and Reary Beg. It derived its name from the Irish word,"Riz Rig" which means the "King's Run",Tradition tells us of a great deal of Folk Lore attached to it. There are traces of an old road still to be seen through the fields in Reary,and the old people say it was on this road the Kings travelled long ago, There is also a very old Churchyard called "Gods Acre" and the remains of an old church is still thee with the Churchyard,but there are only portions of the walls(continues on next page)
