- There are three forges in this parish. The Smiths names are Mr Prescott, Mr Carroll and My Brophy. Mr Carroll and Mr Brophy's people were smiths before them. The forges are all near cross-roads. They all have board roofs. The door has not special shape.There is only one fireplace in the forge. The bellows were not made locally. The implements that the smiths use are a rasp, a sledge, a pinchers, a hammer and a hack saw. The smith shoes horses and asses. The smith does make farm implements he only repairs them.
