  1. "Hounds and Horsemen."
My Father tells me that where he was born and reared in Straboe, Maryboro, Leix, a neighbour of his Joseph McEvoy was going to the fair of Maryboro' one New Year's morning about 3 oclock driving cattle. He heard horses trotting behind him. He looked back and saw the road covered with Horsemen and hounds. They were so numerous that he asked one of them. "Will ye ever be gone?"and he said: Work by Day, sleep by night and let the wicked have their flight. And the man felt the worse of it for a long time after.
