- Tubberding.
Tubberding is supposed to be the largest spring well in this district.
It rises midway between Timahoe and Stradbally in the townsland of Kyle on our land.
It takes in several acres of land in places and 'tis said you can find no bottom.
It was related by old James Buggy Kyle, that on one occasion two bullocks a plough, and a man, fell in and never was seen after.
At a later date John Buggy his son walked into another part carrying an arm of hay.
He was saved by old Edward Cahill who afterwards said he was sorry for saving him for he would arrive in Newzealand "Right enough aye." - Plan of Campaign
The plan of campaign was first organised by the farmers as a protest against rack-rents.
Over fifty years ago the Irish tenants were unjustly rented. To protest against this treatment they organised in one body on(continues on next page)- Collector
