  1. There is a quiet little villiage,
    In the lovely countryside,
    Where an over-changing river,
    Floweth on to ocean's tide,
    Near at hand the hoary ruins,
    Of an ancient Castle stand,
    Which in past and bygone ages,
    Overawed the plesent land,
    Here with many armed forces,
    Chieftains great in power and might
    Over other tribes and peoples
    Would assert unlawful right.
    Now there stands a sacret chapel,
    Close beside the villiage green,
    Where within in deep devotion,
    Pious people may be seen.
