- Hidden TreasuresIreland long ago differed considerably from Ireland at the present day. The people had no banks in which to lodge their money. So they secured all they possessed deep down in the ground and in the ditches. When these people died they probably made no wills and years afterwards the treasures were found.
In a field in the townland of Feeragh, a Chalice was found and it was supposed to be hidden there by the Priests during the Penal Days.
A few years ago when men were cutting turf in Clooncoose bog they found a leather bad the shape of a bottle which is supposed to have been lost by the Firbolgs. It was sent to the Museum in Dublin and they got five pounds for it.
There is supposed to be a crock of gold buried in the ground behind Clooncraff graveyard. It is said that there are three black cats guarding it and that there will be three lives lost in the(continues on next page)- Collector
