- Thatcing in olden times was more common than in these times because many of the houses are slated nowadays.
Our little homesteads in which our forefathers lived were little thatched houses but how far off are those days when aeroplanes had not appeared and television was considered an impossibility.
It is necessary to keep our houses in good condition by keeping them thatched otherwise they would soon become dilapidated.
Before a person can start thatching he must mount the roof and clean it down. The articles he requires for thatching are a mallet,(continues on next page)- Collector
