progress a woman came and wanted a Gospel to cure her sick child. Fr Tom Gilleran told the priests to write Gospels. When they were written he put them all into the fire and they were all burned except his own. Some years after Fr Gilleran was buried a certain priest was saying a burial service over one of the Gillerans, and he said that a priest was buried in that plot and that the priest was a Saint. A priest called Fr Hanly lived in Ballaugh long ago. he stayed in the house where the Welshs live now. It is said that he married thirty couples in one of the rooms in the house the same day. The room in this house is called Fr John's room.
