  1. "If I Could But Shiver"
    There were three brothers once in a house. It was a very cold day in winter. And one of them said "I am shivering" The youngest could not understand what it was to shiver. It troubled him very much until night. He went to bed and could not sleep till morning but kept saying "O if I could but shiver." He resolved to travel far and near till he would find out what it meant to shiver. He set out on the road and the first house he came to was a priest's house. And words he said when he went in was " O if I could but shiver" "Stay with me" the priest said "when the clock strikes twelve to-night go up and ring the Bell. When the priest knew that twelve O'clock was near he dressed him-self in white and sat above at the bell and' sorrow long until the boy came up saying "O if I could but shiver" He looked up and saw the man dressed in white. The boy said "when I go up I will hurry you
