A Plant called Saiste Cnuic was used here in bygone times to cure a pain in the back. They used boil it and drink the juice. Another plant called Machr Dá h-abha was a cure for boils. They used to boil it and put the juice on the boils.
Anyone by the name of Welsh was supposed to have a cure in his blood and any person born on Good Friday and baptised on Easter Sunday had a certain cure.- Collector
