- The wild animals of this district are the fox, badger, otter, weasel, hare, rabbit, porcupine and ferret.The fox, who lives in a den in cliff, was formerly the most destructive. Now he prefers rabbits to fowl.Rabbits live in burrows and as the live on grass and young crops are a source of annoyance to farmers. Have become very numerous of late years. Ferrets and weasels kill many of them.(continues on next page)
