- Forts and "Lioses" are not so plentiful in this part of the country. There is a fairly big Lios situated in Dan Harrington's field about three miles north of Castletown. It is situated near the Kilmacowen school, and on that account it is supposed to be very lonely. People hate to come near this lios, as it is said such things are dangerous because if you went into them, something bad would happen you. There was a girl who went into this lios about five years ago, and she hurt her leg, by getting a bad fall. The old people tell us several fairy stories connected with it. There was a boy going from Eyeries to Kilmacowen one very dark night, about ten years ago. It was about eleven o'clock. When he was passing the gate of the school(continues on next page)
