  1. The following cures were collected by Francis Sammon from her parents.
    1. Tooth-ache. Smoke a pipe or kiss a frog.
    2. Whooping Cough. Go out on the road and when a man comes along with a white horse pass the baby three times under the horse.
    3. Thrush is glycerine and borax.
    4. Corns. Take off your shoes and go in your bare feet in the bog in the summer months.
    5. Sting. Moistened tobacco or fresh butter or a rub of blue.
    6. Boils. Put a bandage of pure silk on the affected spot.
    7. Swelling or sprain. If possible place the affected part in a running stream.
