    16. to stop a bleeding get an asse's "dunghill". and dockin leaf and apply it to a bleeding.
    Mrs Killiher formerly Miss Kate Gunning of Ballisodare, Co. Sligo a native of Stonehall gave her the following cures.
    For headaches.
    Dig up the roots of daisies wash them pound them, get white of egg and mix it through the mash and place in a white cloth and tie round head.
    For Coughs. Go out to a running stream, pick up water cress place it in an earthenware vessel with a layer of water cress, a layer of brown sugar, leave beside fire for a night and squeeze out at morning and place in saucepan with sugar-candy, liquorice ball, golden syrup and boil, when cool put glass of whiskey through it and bottle it for future use.
    These cures were got from Mrs. Mary Cooney a neighbour.
