Human remains in large quanties were also found at Cam near the house of the late Thomas Butler. In connection with the bones found in fields adjoining school - some maintain that a great battle was fought - others that a large number of people were buried here in the famine times. The writer saw two skeletons being taken out in 1937. The quarrying of sand was then suspended.
