    sign of the cross on their forehead. Every May eve all children gather flowers, and put up a May pole for the first of May.
    On St. Martin's day everyone kills a fowl of some sort. Also on Hallow eve all children dive for apples, and money. They hang an apple from the ceiling, and see who would catch it. On St. Peter and Paul's day all young children light a fire with turf, and straw in honour of those Saints.
